What Are Some of the Things You Need to Do to Get on Radio & Television?
- Go the Library and get a List of Shows.
- Make a contact list by calling and being sure the list is current.
- Make changes.
- Then, call the editor.
- Tell the editor what you do and see if there would be a fit. Most editors are looking for people to bring on the shows.
- Make friends with the “gatekeeper,” normally that is the receptionist, and ask about what others have done to get on the shows. Take notes.
- Find out how the editor likes hearing from you. For example, by email, by telephone, or in-person.
